Mark Patterson Interview: Romancing the Stone

“I’m largely inspired by color but color, but that goes beyond the stones themselves,” Patterson notes. “The hunt for beautiful stones takes you to some amazing places. I think about all the beautiful silks I see in Thailand, all the amazing patterns and colors. Hong Kong is more of trading center and less of a cutting center, but there’s a very romantic sort of bazaar angle about it. And Brazil is a little new to me, but the Fusion line has led us there because they offer some of the world’s most beautiful aquamarines and tourmalines.”
